The Institute has been established as an autonomous body in 1990 under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. In 2004, it has been designated as “A Centre under Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM)” by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.
